Adam needs to act like a weakling and a coward to keep Skeletor from figuring out that he's He-Man. Unfortunately that's not a good look for a prince. Adam overhears his father talking to Man-At-Arms about how disappointed he was in Adam, saying that while he hoped Adam would never have to be a warrior, he also wanted him to at least fight for his kingdom. Adam feels betrayed by both men, since Man-At-Arms knows his secret but didn't try to stand up for him.
When there's a Skeletor attack Adam decides not to turn into He-Man, getting a bitchy remark from Teela about how she expected him to run off by now. Adam was able to put up a decent fight, but he's no match for Skeletor, who blasted him off the side of a cliff. Luckily he lands on a ledge further down, and decides that He-Man is needed. Once he transforms he battles Skeletor who later orders a retreat. Stratos says he looked at the bottom of the cliff but couldn't find any sign of Adam. Man-At-Arms assures them that Adam is fine and He-Man offers to look for him while the others went back to rest. But as the Masters are leaving He-Man hears Teela make another remark about how Adam should have just stayed at the castle instead of coming with them and causing trouble. That makes He-Man wonder if Adam is really needed.
Queen Marlena is worried when Adam doesn't return with the rest of them and Man-At-Arms tried to comfort her by saying that He-Man was searching for Adam. They hear someone coming up the stairs and they all immediately assume that it's Adam. Instead they see a sad looking He-Man, who tells them that he wasn't able to find Adam, or any sign that he might be alive.
